Located in the South Island resort town of Wanaka, Edgewater is an outstanding four-star plus hotel for your leisure and touring clients and is Wanaka’s only accommodation located directly on the lake edge.

Via road, Edgewater is 1 hour from Queenstown, 5 hours from Christchurch and 4 hours from Franz Josef Glacier.

Guest room styles range from studio, one-bedroom suite and two-bedroom apartments.  The suites and apartments include in-room washing machines/dryers which are perfect for guest who’ve been travelling for some time.

In December 2023 about 30 refurbished rooms were re-opened.   The refurbishment is extensive include new bathrooms, air-conditioning and upgraded kitchens (apartments only).

This first phase of refurbishment is part of a three part programme that is planned with the winters of 2024 and 2025.

Facilities include the Wineglass Café for all day dining.   We also offer all weather tennis courts, sauna, mountain bikes (hire charge), free Wi-Fi and free car parking near to guest rooms.   There is dedicated coach parking.

Tairāwhiti Gisborne Tourism (TGT) Is the Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) for the Tairāwhiti region. Based on the eastern coast of the North Island in Gisborne.

TGT is a division within Trust Tairāwhiti the local Economic Development Agency (EDA), RTO and Community Trust which has amalgamated to form a single regional development agency tasked with community wellbeing and economic prosperity.

TGT works closely with local industry and community, local and national tourism organisations’ NZ Māori Tourism (NZMT)  as well as Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) to coordinate and support the Destination Development, Marketing and Management of Tairāwhiti as a visitor destination within New Zealand and internationally.
