KJet
KJet is New Zealand’s original Jet boat ride. Based in Queenstown, we’ve been operating since 1958 and are proud to be known as the world’s first commercial Jet boat operator.
KJet offers 60 minutes of unforgettable thrills, spins and exhilaration across three waterways in one of the world’s most stunning locations. The twin engine Jet boat roars across crystal clear Lake Wakatipu at breath-taking speed, surrounded by majestic mountains and mesmerising scenery. Then the Jet boat zooms under the Kawarau Dam onto the deep green waters of the Kawarau River, complete with lots of 360° spins. Next the adventure heightens as the driver navigates the fast-moving currents of the narrow braided Shotover River, racing up the shallow channels at speeds of up to 95KPH in water that’s often less than 5cm deep.
With the largest Jet boat capacity in New Zealand, KJet offers exclusive private charters for groups of all sizes, carrying up to 120 people at one time or over 400 on a rotational series.
Time Tripper
Queenstown’s only underwater cinematic experience takes you on a journey through time and legend, where you can experience 90 million years in just 30 minutes! As you wait for the next time jump window to open, you’ll get to see the beautiful love story and Māori Legend of Lake Wakatipu.
Your time travel pilot will guide you back 90 million years, through the time of the dinosaurs, take you to when New Zealand was formed, fly you deep into the earth when the Southern Alps were created and through the glacier that carved out Lake Wakatipu. Ending in present day Queenstown, you then experience adventure activities you can do – all from the comfort of your rumbling seat!
You then experience 15 minutes of underwater viewing where we feed the famous diving ducks, slinky eels and rainbow & brown trout that lie beneath.
